When I think of the way you suffered, I cry
Beaten so mercilessly then hung to die
A crown of thorns looked beautiful on you
Words scribed overhead, “King of the Jews”
When I think of the injustice done, I cry
Soldiers of fortune judged and tried
“Hail to Caesar!” was all they believed
Pilates seemed not to be so deceived.
When I see the scars in your hands, I cry
Your valiant courage, the look in your eyes
You took up your cross to a path you knew
Led to only to death, where they tortured you
When I think of the reason you died, I cry
For the unrighteous and souls such as I
How should it be you would do this for me?
You ransomed your life so mine would be free.
When I think of the day you arose, I cry
Souls rejoiced and hearts flamed afire
Tears came freely at a life reborn
Our King had returned, no longer in scorn
When I think of my own salvation, I cry
Only by your grace am I now alive
All that I am or ever could ever be
Comes from your brave heart’s mercy on me.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
