The loving wounds of a faithful friend
Are near and dear to my heart
Because when I get done being angry
The healing can really start

I know all the truth he is speaking
But yet I’ve refused to obey it
And I’m thanking God for a friend like him
Because he has the courage to say it

He does not come out to attack me
He’s hoping that I won’t be harmed
And when he is speaking the Word of the Lord
I find I’m completely unarmed

The Lord is my helper; I won’t be afraid.
What can man do to me?
