Circling, circling, the old bird glides
Searching not for prey, but the nest
The old one blew away, gone in a minute
She’s left to find her way, but slowly
Where will the New Normal be found?
Where will she finally alight?
Carving her way through passing clouds
The veil is moving, slowly
Come little bird, says a voice in the wind
Follow the current rising
Take your eyes off the promise of twigs
They’re dry, and easily broken
That was then, this is now… Come, said the voice
And finally yielding, she lifts
Rising on a current both soft and strong
Higher than she’s ever been
Clearer than clear, lighter than light
The air in her face is heaven
What’s that, she asks, as colors break forth
Transforming the distant sky
Colliding, combining, designing and climbing
Such beauty as she’s never seen
I made it for you, little bird
Take wing!
Your New Normal is on the horizon
