Sunday 6/24/12 Pastor Michael sermon- Say It! The Power of the Spoken Word Matt 8:5-13
Words are numerous and they have power. Men speak 10 to 15,000 words a day. Women speak 20 to 25,000 words a day. Words have power, the bible says words have power and that they can create. The book of Genesis shows God spoke the word and there was light, there was earth. God made something from His spoken word. We need to think of what comes out of our mouth. By our words we will be justified, by our words we will be condemned. The tongue has power and we need to watch what we say.
Jesus is marveling at the Roman centurion that had such faith. This pagan man had such faith that he surprised Jesus. Jesus is on his way to the manís house to heal his son when the centurion stops Jesus from coming to his house. This pagan man had things and people in his house that he did not want Jesus to see. He had such faith in Jesus that he said for Jesus to just speak the word only.
Itís not just the faith that we have but its what we do with our faith. This is what moves God. God is not concerned about our bills but cares about our faith in Him taking care of our bills! The centurion called Jesus Lord. This showed the place Jesus had in his life. He called Jesus Lord and had faith in His authority. The centurion was a lord with servants himself . He knew that Jesus being Lord, The Lord, had much more power than him. Power to speak the word and it will be done!
We need to open our mouth and speak the Word over our trouble! If we want healing, speak it! The power of life and death is in our mouth! We have to speak it! Speak the Word! Donít just talk to each other about the issue. We need to speak the word of God over and at our issue! If we want to see better , we have to speak better! We need to take authority and speak healing, deliverance and prosperity over our life!
Open your mouth and praise God for where you are going! Speak what the Word of God says!
We will be blessed!
Blessed in the city!
Blessed in the field!
If we want to eat better, speak better!
