Did You Know ?
We have all heard the term, “will power” but did you know that there is real, eternally significant power in your will ? Listen to me … this is not some simple and lame motivational jargon.
Please. Prayerfully consider the following ;
Jesus said, “All things are possible to Him who believes”.
After walking on water, after cursing the fig tree that withered, and many other such miracles, Jesus marveled at the littleness of men’s faith. Why ? Jesus was given the Spirit without measure so that the power of the Spirit flowed freely to and through Him. Jesus called Himself “the son of man” to solidify His standing as simply a man. Paul says Christ was the final man in Adam while becoming the new and second man…the man according to God’s plan. It is very important that we realize that God emptied Himself becoming man incarnate and walked on earth as man ! God intended for man to take Him for His life and living and to have rule and authority over the earth. Satan and his minions have plenty of power but Satan is a usurper whereas man is the only created being uniquely formed from the dust of the earth ! This makes man of the earth, so that the earth is a part of him. Now God is set to recover not only the earth, but all of creation through the man Jesus Christ.
What does this have to do with your will and it’s power ? Well, it just so happens that this man Jesus is now within your spirit ! He is waiting for men to follow Him ! Do you know the way ? He said, “I am the way, the truth and the life.“ Do you know the path ? He said, “narrow is the gate and constricted is the path”.
You might even say this path or way is the journey out of Egypt into the promised land. It is the way of living outside of the soul’s self life and into the inner spirit. It is the way also into the holy of holies. Are these words just religious words to you or are they the very words of life to you ? Do they resonate within your spirit ?
Paul said these things are only spiritually discerned. This means that one has to employ his spirit to see or understand spiritual things. But what is the key to this life? Again, we may go back to the human will. Not to over simplify , but at least consider that Jesus said, “I came not to do my own will” , “I can do nothing of myself”, and to emphatically prove where His will was, he declared, “I and the Father are one”. This statement was not to say that He was God (though true enough) but rather to say that He gave up His life or subjugated His soul life along with it’s natural powers of will, mind and emotions.
Thus, He said “Follow Me”, and “That he who loses his soul life will keep it but he who saves it will lose it”.
God has a very definite plan, and in that plan it is necessary that man unites His will with that of the Father in part, at least, so as to recover the earth for His kingdom.
Interesting to note that in the only prayer Jesus taught was the words, “Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. This is no small thing. It is not a feel good sentiment. It is central theme in God’s recovery of all things !
To summarize ; your will, united with God’s will, is the vehicle and the catalyst for the recovery of the earth to usher in the kingdom of God. Now that is power !
