Your Sabbath
shook off the shackles,
rose shimmering
with freedom light,
slashed wineskins,
unfettered the bound,
sighted the blind,
day from night.
Your power
tackled mortality
decisively winning,
put death to flight.
My Sabbath
turns me aside,
re-arranges me,
sets my compass aright.
New kingdom
shakes up my values,
leavens my bread,
turns dull to bright.
