Jacob had a dream and an angel he met
God had big plans for his life. He wasn't through yet
He was given precious promises for the future
Promises of hope, protection and a new constructure
Fear not, for I am with you, were words he heard
Jacob quietly listened and missed not a word
Jacob was told that he could go back to his homeland
Perhaps he had not thought of God's ways beforehand
We too have many promises in God's Word for our life
Even though it may be filled with bitterness and stife
God has plans to prosper us and never do us harm
So rejoice, there's no reason for alarm
God will again rejoice over us for good
Just as He rejoiced over our fathers.
So please be patient and do not fret
For you see, God is not finished his work yet
