I came up with these lyrics yesterday evening and an original melody to go with it but I do not have the music just yet. When I get these lyrics put into a musical format you'll be able to play this hymn for your beloved brethren. Be advised my melodies are not contemporary but harken back to a more sober era where the melodies sound like something springing forth from a century or more ago. The length is short so it can be sung in about 1:10 minutes as perhaps a last hymn before church dismissal or a hymn that is sung just before the sermon.
Jesus all praise to thee we owe
sorrow and sadness ever we show.
Give us this day a new song to sing
Shout forth with praise a tune to our King.
Rejoice with me ye saints of the Lord
Give the Son praise for the pow'r of His sword.
Grant us thy grace the strength to remain
Steadfast unmoved thy glory to obtain.
Cast forth your crowns, give Jesus His due
Glory and honor to Him who'll renew.
Give to His name, His merit is above
Send us your peace, preserve us in love.
