It seems like the sea of difficulty is arising. Many are being hit by the waves that comes from all sides. many believers faith seems to be drowning. Some have let go of the rock whom is Christ, which now they are being casted away by the waves...
Many have thrown in their white flag. They have surrendered. Giving up. Saw that such situations were to great to overcome and Satan has come too hard. Many feel like they are surrounded by enemy forces and it seems like God & his angels are miles away.
Many Christians feel like they are hanging on a cliff & they are ready to let go. But somehow, they are afraid to so, so they hold on for a little longer.
we use to be Satans puppets but the blood of Christ cut the strings.
Question: why do many Christians feel this way?
I believe many have become inpatient with God. Because of there impatience, they have ran right into the deep hole of rebellion
God brought the people out of slavery through Moses. He then wanted to take them to a land he had prepared for them. However, they had made a couple of stops during there trip
Moses went on the top of a mountain called Mount Sinai, which stands for mountain of God. Why did Moses go up there? Because God had important things to tell him.
Moses was only the mailman (messenger). Whatever God told him or gave him was to be delivered to his people
Moses was up there for 40 days. Now, what was going on with God's people on the bottom of the mountain as Moses, there leader, was on top of the mountain with God?
they were not willing to wait & see what God had been telling Moses (Exodus 32:1)
Moses went to speak with God in Exodus 24. He returned back down on Exodus 32. God spoke to Moses about offerings, specific instructions for the tabernacle, priests clothing, sabbath day, etc. even wrote the 10 commandments with his finger
God told Moses how his people grew stubborn & rebelled. Worshipping the gold calf as there God
i'm sure Moses didn't expect this to happened. But he knew that they have disobeyed before. I'm sure he felt hurt. Moses was there leader. I'm sure there were times where he felt like giving up because of the peoples rebellion.
even after God had done amazing miracles & even saved them from slavery, the people still refused to listen & wait on God. So they chose to do as they pleased
even Aaron messed up. He did what the people wanted instead of maintaining what God has commanded
Exodus 32:2. the people have become confused. They first said that Moses brought them out of Egypt. But in verse 4, they said that the Gold calf brought them out of Egypt.
the more you sin & continue on the road of rebellion, the more crazy & confused you become
Verse 2-4. the worst thing you can do is help others to sin. All of us are actually guilty of leading others to sin because we to have done stupid things in front of others who then also copied us
idols are not the problem today in America but "other things" are.
You may say, why did they even worshipped idols back then?
there is a throne in our life & we either have other things on it or God. Its our choice. We to have placed other things in the throne of our life where God belongs. We are no different from these people
Verse5. First, they sinned. Insisted by making an idol. Second, they worship the idol that has been made by there jewelery. Third, they throw a sinful party
while Moses was on top of the mountain being persistent in God's presence with obedience, the people were on the bottom of the mountain being persistent in disobedience
God is calling us to live holy lives. living this way should already been started by the Christian
God doesn't play games. Living in sin does not please Him at all. It actually angers him (verse 9,10)
God wants us to turn away from such living because it only gets us into a deeper hole. Doesn't bring God's blessing down. Doesn't defeat Satan but instead applauds him. It doesn't help you grow in your faith. It doesn't bring the holy spirits power upon your life. It doesn't bring true joy. But only brings punishment & quick appeasement.
Question: when something is bad in your fridge, what do you do? Do you keep it? You, throw it away
God wants us to throw away everything that we don't need From our life
Galatians 5:20-21 "idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God"
thank God he is slow to anger. Of coarse he gets upset when we live lives that don't please him, but his heart still overflows with love
Psalms 86:15 "But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness"
that means that God is ready to forgive the sinner that repents & God restores them
