I told her there was a position advertised for light housekeeping duties. "That sounds lonely," she replied. I asked her what she meant by that. "Are you serious, keeping a lighthouse? That would have to be lonesome!" No, no, that's not what I said at all....except that it IS what I said, though, of course, not what I meant.
