Guardian of the heart
Rend this vile flesh, to see
The grievous, wretched, unseen part
That wars, inside of me
Plexus of twisted web
Self, pride and strands of strife
Pernicious fibres, grip and ebb
The vital flow of life
Guilt droplets, formed by guile
Infused, with doubt and dread
Anastomose and now defile
The very fountain-head
Sanative Word of God
Exact the effective cure
Imparted righteousness, alone
Can make this vessel pure
Cleanse, sanctify, restore
Grace upon grace, bestow
Spirit of God, in love out-pour
And make this wellspring flow
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Proverbs 4:23 KJV
Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
Psalm 51:6-13 KJV

Your words are nothing short of genious! This is absolutely beautiful and what I strive for each day is a pure heart...not there yet but working on it with God. Thanks for reminding me to pray extra hard today.
God Bless you.
Lynn
P.S. I have read that in Proverbs many times over.
Thank you Marina and also for your email. I will mail back soon. This was my little offering for the current challenge, but my word count is off. Back to the drawing board :) I love the way the FW challenge stretches you. Deb x
