I live in San Diego County, on the Northern most part of the coast. The scenery here is breath taking and the air is often scented with the fragrance of wild flowers growing on the gentle rolling hills, and the honeysuckle bushes growing all along right above the beach. When I take my walks at the beach, I am not only seeing beauty, but there is always a lovely, fragrant aroma, because the air is perfumed with honeysuckle.
My daughter and I like to walk at the beach, and I also go with one of my closest friends for walks to take in the clean fresh air and to just relax and talk. A lot of the time, I like to walk by myself, to have my own pace, to be alone with God, thanking Him for His glorious creations.....and when I'm here, right at the water, it's so amazingly beautiful that it always takes my breath away.....and this is after being here for years....It never ceases to amaze me that God created such beauty.
I spend lots of time just hanging out at the beach with friends, talking or taking walks, and enjoying all of God's beautiful creations, like the sweet smelling honeysuckle bushes growing all over and the pelicans and seagulls flying over head, the waves coming in to shore, glistening in the sun, and the clear blue sky with cotton candy clouds!
I Want to Share This Poem I Wrote:
"Coastal Beauty....Another One of God's Perfect Creations"
Oh what a glorious day
Such beauty above me
Lovely cotton candy clouds I see
Here come the grand and foamy waves
Gently rolling in, sparking in the sun
Oh what calm they bring
Lovely foamy caps
God in His grand design
Has colored the sky with shades of blue
For you and for me too
More to See
Of course, there is more to see than the ocean here. Here in Oceanside, where I live, we have a great Surf Museum just a few blocks from the Pier.
And, at the very end of the pier (which is the longest wooden pier in California), we have "Ruby's" 50's cafe. They serve up delicious food that you can eat overlooking the ocean! It's a great way to spend time with friends or family!
There is also a sweet smell from the alfalfa grass growing right here on the gently sloping hillsides where I live. I love driving up the hill to my home, because there are beautiful wild yellow flowers growing along the hillside, and when it rains, there are so many, it's breath taking. There are also lush green trees, some evergreen and some others, growing along this road.
I invite you to come out to San Diego County when you have some free time. Hope you will take advantage of one of the harbor cruises of the Bay when you're here. Until then, take care and God bless you!
