John 3:16 “For whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
This has got to be the most important verse in the Bible. I think we all learned it as children, in church or vacation Bible school. If someone ever asked to quote a verse from the Bible when I was a child, this is the verse that would come to mind first.
I didn’t think much about what it meant at the time, nor much about it at all until Jesus saved me. Now when I think about the words in John 3:16 I wonder why it took me so long to really understand the real meaning of those precious words.
“Shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
Eternal life. Life with Jesus. No illness, no sadness, no worries. Just glorious harmony with my Lord. What a life that will be. Peace will be mine, and I will fly with the angels of God. If only I believe.
When my earthly body dies, my heavenly body will live with Jesus. I will be strong and whole. I know there is nothing to fear with death, because from death comes life. Real life.
Eternal life with Jesus.

Hi Lynn,
I read your article Eternal Life. It is beautiful and it is Truth...we will forever be with Jesus when this mortal body dies. Our soul will live on eternally with our Lord, because that's how He created us, as eternal beings. And, that's why some scripture says, and then they went to sleep. Like when Steven was being stoned and he asked God to forgive them "for they do not know what they are doing"...and "then Steven went to sleep".
Take care, God bless you!
