"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
-Matthew 16:18
Sometimes I worry that God won't use me because of my imperfections. Why would a perfect God use someone as imperfect as me?
Througout the Bible, God tells us of the less than perfect people he called to do mighty works. Moses before he led the nation of Israel out of Eqypt committed a senseless murder. Jonah was used to get the people of Ninevah to repent after he refused to serve God. Paul ruthlessly hunted down the followers of Jesus before he was called to be a mighty disciple.
In Matthew 16, Peter was called blessed by Jesus and then got a sound rebuking after he said somthing stupid. Peter wasn't perfect but he was used as the one upon whom Jesus built his Church!
Maybe the reason that God uses imperfect people is because people aren't perfect.
Don't let your imperfections keep you from serving God.
