Simple faith

Often, I find things become over complicated by man, and what Jesus says to be simple, man somehow confuses. Sometimes we just ought to accept the bible verses in there simplest form. Let's not always pile more of man's teachings onto the truth that God peaks to us about. When God says something, we need to trust in him, and not rely on our own insight as the bible says, because if it is truly him speaking then it will have true meaning to your life. When I say this, I mean that when God speaks to us individually, we sometimes think that there is an alternative or we think that there must be more to what God is saying, so then we go on one of our thought processes where we over complicate Jesus' voice with our own thoughts and feelings.

For example, when we pray for healing, we think that there is some kind of formula to what we are doing. This is wrong, there is no formula to any prayer, but instead the Holy Spirit anoints us with the gifts that enable us to minister to others. For healing the bible says 'by his wounds you have been healed' and Jesus said 'they will place their hands on sick people and they will get well. It is as simple and as powerful as that. You would be amazed what faith in God can accomplish.

An example of simple faith can be seen from the early church in Acts, where the apostles were constant in their prayer and continually waited on God. All we really need is God's power in our lives given to us by the Holy Spirit, because in that power all things are possible; the dead can be raised, the sick can be healed, the dead can be raised. The thing that stands in the way is usually us. Do we have faith? Do we truly believe? And are we open to God? On the other hand, if we over complicate matters and try things in our own strength, more than often we will fail, and I can say that from experience. Remember though that Jesus came to abolish religion and he wanted us to follow him simply by obeying him and him alone. Let's not take away the simplicity that is in our Lord Christ Jesus.
God bless

JESUS used simple things to communicate deeper truths. No need to complicate faith. At heart; it is an abiding, growing, living relationship with our LORD !!

I liked this. Keeping it plain and simple is easiest, best and most God-like as you say. Let's hope your kind of simplicity cracks and destroys open a whole lot of complicated beliefs.
