Soldiers Neglecting Their Duty

I Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

I Peter 2:13-17 submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lordís sake whether it be to the king as supreme; or unto Governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men. As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. Honor all men, Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the King.

In the world in which we live there are certain duties naturally and spiritually being neglected by Godís Creation; Man. More and more it is evident as I walk the streets of my City that the saved is scared and the unsaved doesnít care. As I sat in my house on last night I realized there was some commotion going on outside. I got up and looked out of the door and two girls were fighting. Everyone living around me was outside watching. I immediately went over to where they were and told them to stop. When they would not stopped being pumped on by the sideline I grabbed the one on top and pulled her up. She was still holding and pulling the girl on the bottom hair. I told her to turn it a loose but she would not. I grabbed her hair and told her to turn the girl hair a loose again and she would not. So I pulled her hair and asked her did she want to fight with me? She turned and walked away. But to my surprise the Mother of some of the children was right their pumping the fight up! A parent negligent in duty is one that allows things to go on in their presence that is not right. A parent negligent in duty is one that pushes wrong rather than righteousness. They train their children opposite of what Godís Word says.

Saints God has called us to duty; we are soldiers neglecting our duties as Saint. There is a war going on in the world and we have neglected our call. Not only are we called to make peace but we are called to win souls for Christ. Itís a war going on in our homes, right next door, around the corner, at work, and even at Church. We have a call to be holy, have perfect moral integrity or purity, have freedom from sin and be sanctified as He is sanctified. We are to be wholly consecrated to Godís service. We are called to be holy in so far as being more than habitually good, not sinning, thinking and acting in a godlike manner, and conforming our innermost being to the will of God with outward manifestations of blameless conduct, living the life of the pure in heart.

Holiness is through the mediation of Christ. Everything dedicated to God, partakes in a certain manner of His holiness. Holiness signifies that every thought of man, every emotion, every act, every deed, yea all that combines to make up oneís life, it determined by the will of God; Itís time we realize that this life of Christianity is not about us, but God. The old man must be crucified that we who has been burdened by worldly lust and shackled by the chains of the flesh, is cast off, and the new man is fully put on. This is both the work of God and man.

Scared Saints still live among us today as they did in Jesus time. Jesus Christ is the source of our knowledge. At first the disciples had Jesus Himself. They heard Him speak and they saw Him and His wonderful works. They felt His power and came to recognize the truthfulness of His claims about Himself. They had much to overcome and to hinder them in a full and a just apprehension of the person and work of Jesus as the Messiah. They looked for the Christ to come in as a political Messiah that would deliver the Jews from the Roman yoke. It was only after the Resurrection of Jesus that they came unto the power of the Holy Spirit to understand fully the spiritual nature of the kingdom of God and of the Messiah as King.

We too need the Holy Ghost (the power of God, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit, the Spirit of Jehovah, the Spirit of the Lord, the Spirit of Jesus Christ) and the power it gives. It is through the Holy Ghost that the Will of God is made known to us. It gives quality of mind and body needed by men to execute the Will of God. Scared Saints do not possess the Holy Ghostís personality. He hears and speaks against sin and wrongdoing in the earth. He wills, He has knowledge, He teaches, He makes intercessions for us and He chooses right over wrong. The Holy Spirit will direct us as He did Jesus in the wilderness. Our life in Christ should be under the direction and power of the Holy Spirit of God.

Casting out demons Jesus said in comes only through fasting and praying. Matthew 17:19-21then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, why could not we cast him (the spirit of the lunatic) out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief; for verily I say unto you, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. Jesus promised His disciples that they should be baptized in the Holy Spirit. He also told them that they shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you. In Acts 2:4 the Holy Spirit came upon them on the day of Pentecost as promised. The Holy Spirit was to convict the world of sin. St. John 16:8 and when He is come, He will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness and of judgment.

II Corinthians 10:4-5 for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (fleshly, worldly, sensuous, or lewd) but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (a fortified place, place of security or survival, a place dominated by a particular group or marked by a particular characteristics). Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. How do we do this? We need the power of the Holy Ghost. We need to be endued with power. It is the Holy Ghost working in and through us that destroys the yoke of sin in the lives of men; He however uses us to speak the word that He may do it. The Holy Spirit is moved by the spoken Word but we need to know it to speak it.

The people of God canít cast out a fly lest alone demons. They know that the godly shall be delivered for II Peter 2:9 tell us so. The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust unto the day of; judgment to be punished. It is still our responsibility to give the ungodly the Word of God that they decide if they will become a soldier of the Lord Jesus Christ or not. What we do we should not and think it is okay. II Peter 2:10 them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government; presumptuous are they, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. Man speaks against the President like he is some kind of animal. They donít respect him as a man. Some people say they are saved but they are not when they refuse to respect the authority God put in place. This is a test of the hearts of men, saved or unsaved. Are we really prepared for the coming of the Lord again? We are weak and feeble, unlearned and unstable, and unable to fully understand Christ. The first demon we must cast out is the one operating in our own minds.

Itís time we be as good soldiers, put on our weaponry, and learn to properly use them. Our weapons to be a good soldier in the army of the Lord is this; the armor of light (Romans 13:12 the night is far spent, the day is at hand; let us therefore cast off darkness, and let us put on the armor of light), walk in the light. Put on the armor of righteousness (II Corinthians 6:7 by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left) and putting on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11). Our weapons for spiritual warfare are: having our loins girt about with truth, having on the breastplate of righteousness, having our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, above all things having on the shield of faith, taking the helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching there unto all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

Our whole body, mind, soul, spirit, and heart belongs to God, He is our all and all. Itís time we realize that we can do nothing without God and be prosperous in Him. If we are to be citizens of Heaven we must learn how to be on earth first. Heaven came down to earth. If we canít get it right here we can forget going to Heaven. If we canít stand to stay in Church two hours here in the earth how do we think we are going to make it in Heaven, day and night? We canít be in Christ for the long haul and not endure anything here. Even as Christ has suffered in the flesh so must we. The question is; are we willing to go through the tests of life now?

We need to put each other and all people that they keep in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates. A good soldier is one organized, trained and ready to fight for what they believe. They will even stand up for what they know is right even when death is immanent (their fate, inherent, natural, or instinctive). A good soldier is equipped with the Word of God and ready to give an answer to all that is asked of them. A good soldier watches the enemy and knows their moves. A good soldier is ready to act and move when called to do so. We are in the army of the Lord; so why do we expect God to do everything for us, to us, through us, and with us for things to prosper? God uses people, ordinary people at that. Let Him use us today. We are not afraid of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God is waiting on us to move.
