WHY SHOULD YOU DEAL WITH IT? 3

We continue to explore why we need to deal with the issues in our lives. When an ungodly thought pattern or habit is overlooked, it breeds sin. In an effort to cover it up, we will find ourselves entangled in a lifestyle of sin.

The fundamental reason we need to confront the challenges that have weakened us is expressed in 2 Samuel 11:27. The preceding Scripture records that ďAfter the time of mourning was over, David had her (Bathsheba, Uriahís wife) brought to his house, and she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing David had done displeased the Lord.Ē David, the man after Godís heart had broken Godís heart with the acts of adultery and murder. Sin is disgusting to God. He canít stand it.

We run the risk of bringing pain to Godís heart when we refuse to address the issues that birth ungodliness. A mindset of scarcity will frustrate Godís Word to us in Philippians 4:19 that assures us of abundant provision. This mindset will eventually feed your fear and starve your faith. Without faith, it becomes impossible to please God, (Hebrews 11:6). The compulsive act of watching pornographic images culminates in masturbation, fornication and other forms of sexual failures. The wrong mentality and habit make the believer to live below the Lordís standard for His children. They prevent us from fulfilling Godís pleasure, which is why we are reborn in Christ (Ephesians 2:10, Philippians 2:13).

Face it. Stop it. Itís breaking Godís heart. The tables have been turned. You will overcome what made a failure out of you. Your days of failure are over.
