Creation
In the beginning
YHW'S Spirit hovered over dark, deep waters.
He transformed black emptiness
Into brilliant, pure
Light.
This was done on day one.
Four corners,
Flapping in the wind,
He gathered the sky
And tied it down
On day two.
Out of the chaos
He called forth and separated
Water from land.
With His breath He created
Plants.
Scattering them in a kaleidoscope
Of color and scent
He created the trees
Their mighty branches
Formed oasis of shade.
On day three He strung
The planets and stars
Together into
Beads of lights.
He arranged them in endless galaxies,
And gave each one a name.
Meticulously He formed
The sun and the moon,
The sun created bigger
To light up
The moon.
The two planets
Endlessly orbiting
To Signal
Days and nights,
Seasons,
Months and years.
On the fourth day
The seas came alive
With creatures
Created with playful fun.
Tumbled out in abundant color, sizes and shape.
The changing tides,
Transparent, aquamarine waves,
White, foamy tips
Lavishly scattering shells
On silky, soft sand.
Birds filled the sky,
The air vibrating with their cries
Their graceful flight
Delighting the eye.
Then He told them all to multiply.
With the animals
He excelled on
Day five.
His loving hand
Shaping and molding
Each into a diverse
Variety of movement and
Sound.
Some He made tame, some wild
Running, jumping and crawling.
Each to their kind,
A glorious example,
Displaying the perfect stamp
Of a true artist.
Each one reflecting
As through a prism
A sliver of His true nature.
Lastly,
In their magnificent image,
YHWH created man.
From mere dust.
Brought to life
By the Spirit's breathe.
He crowned him
With authority
To rule.
And using His rib
YHWH created Eve
To be his soul mate
Of all creation they
Became the chosen companions
To walk hand in hand
With their Father
In the garden.
Now on the sixth day
The creation was done.
The seventh day
YHWH set apart to keep
As a day of rest forever.
