Joyce stuck a Post it Note to my computer fast starting the muse for today's article. It is a truism that often brings grief to many, but when properly understood actually breaks chains that enslave many to addiction to others.
"Don't depend too much on anyone in this world. Even your shadow leaves you when you're in darkness."
Times of personal darkness are one of Godís ways of forcing us to learn to rest upon Him alone. Be sure He brings friends into our life for several reasons, such as being a blessing to them, permitting them to do the same for us and permitting us to bless them and in turn we receive a slap in the face, all for the glory of God. How so? We are more like Christ when we receive a slap in the face in return for our goodness. That is the definition of grace.
Fantastic wonders are cloaked with darkness. When Moses met God on Mount Sinai the mount was hidden in darkness. Christ cried from the thick darkness of Calvary, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me." Eternity's grandest work was hidden in darkness.
Isaiah 45:3 "And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel." One Secret of darkness is God is in it with you.
