What purpose is driving you?

I recently learned that a certain book had

become the number one best seller of all time.

Wow! But I'm not surprised. The writer is the

pastor of a mega-church. You know one of those

"seeker-friendly" churches I spoke about you in

an earlier blog. Well this same pastor apologized

to the homosexual community for his stand against

gay marriage in California. So I am sure what

purpose was driving him. He is now sitting on

enough cash to “Buy an Island” in his words.

I’m not writing today to bash him or his book.

The truth is he has a good concept. Live your

life with purpose. The problem I see in America

is that we seem to have the wrong purpose in

mind. Some will say, I’m working hard to become a

success and make more money so I can give more.

Others may volunteer without end because it makes

them feel good. But have you ask; What does GOD

want? Trust me when I tell you, God doesn’t

need your money, time, praise or worship. What he

wants is for your heart, and mine to change. Let

me give you an example. We have all seen an

obedient dog walking along without a leash.

You’ve seen them, they obey every command their

master gives them. They sit, stay, fetch, play

dead, roll over and shake at their masters word.

Did you also notice these dogs are all happy? Now

think of the “Ten Commandments” as our leash.God

through his son Jesus has removed the leash. We

had to obey before Jesus but now we obey because

we love him.

This kind of thinking is what one pastor

called a (QUALITY DECISION). You not only have to

change your mind but your behavior, actions,

habits and maybe your relationships. This

decision must become a permanent change of not

only your thinking but your lifestyle as well.

Consider the man in Matthew 19:20-22 The young

man saith unto him, All these things have I kept

from my youth up: what lack I yet? Jesus said

unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go [and] sell

that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou

shalt have treasure in heaven: and come [and]

follow me. But when the young man heard that

saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great

possessions. I’ve given you a lot to think about.

Hope you make the right decision.

God bless. See you soon.
