Colossians Part 1 1 of 2
Colossians 1:1 “Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,”
Colossians 1:2 “To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Colossians 1:3 “We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,”
Colossians 1:4 “Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,”
Colossians 1:5 “For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;”
laid up (Strong’s 606) to be reserved; figurative to await, be appointed, (be) laid up.
We are beginning a new book, Colossians, written around the same time when Paul was imprisoned in Rome. The book is similar to the book of Ephesians, written to the believers and the subject is religious rites and traditions of men. Timothy with Paul helping the saints, or set aside ones, who brought forward the Word of God. Always begin your day by praising and thanking God for all His blessings. That way everything else falls into place and your focus is set in His direction. When we first have that faith in knowing that this flesh life is not it. We, that believe on Him, meaning in His Word, then have the opportunity for the eternity and we can be happy. The hope we have is laid up, meaning reserved in heaven for we believers. We have that eternity to look forward to with the Lord and the Word gives us the strength to be successful in this life. Then going here:
I Peter 1:4 “To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,”
I Peter 1:5 “Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
God has that inheritance for you, His child and believer that loves Him. As in Ezekiel Chapter 44, the period is the Lord’s Day, or the thousand years as in II Peter 3:8 one day with the Lord is as one thousand. It shows the land allotments for each tribe of Israel. Then for God’s election, the Zadok, or righteous ones righted by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus, for God is their inheritance:
Ezekiel 44:15 “But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of My sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from Me, they shall come near to Me to minister unto Me, and they shall stand before Me to offer unto Me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord GOD:”
Ezekiel 44:16 “They shall enter into My sanctuary, and they shall come near to My table, to minister unto Me, and they shall keep My charge.”
Ezekiel 44:28 “And it shall be unto them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and ye shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession.”
Zadok (Strong’s 6659) just; (from Strong’s 6663) to be right (in a moral or forensic sense); cleanse, clear self, just, righteous.
These are God’s election that withstood Satan in the first earth age, and will stand and not worship Satan when he comes before Jesus. Only they will be allowed during the thousand years near the Lord to serve Him, not those Levites, or preachers that will many astray right into bed, spiritually, with Satan. They will have no land allotted them as God, Himself, is their inheritance, and what a blessing that is! So if you have eyes to see and ears to hear His Word, hear what He has to say. Not my words, or any religion’s or men’s traditions, or church doctrines, but God’s Word. Then going on here:
Colossians 1:6 “Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:”
Colossians 1:7 “As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;”
Colossians 1:8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.”
Epaphras after learning through Paul set up this church
When God’s Word is taught with discipline following the subject and object, going chapter by chapter and verse by verse, that work will bring so much fruit. You won’t have to beg for members as so many false preachers out there. Jesus, Himself, here tells the seventy, representing that seven thousand of Israel that would not bow a knee to Baal, meaning Satan as in I Kings 19:18 here:
Luke 10:1 “After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, an sent them two and two before His faced into every city and place, whither He Himself would come.”
Luke 10:4 “Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.”
Luke 10:7 “And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. God not from house to house.”
Luke 10:8 “And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:”
scrip (Strong’s 4082) a wallet or leather pouch for food; scrip or paper money for emergency use, used by slaves on a begging expedition.
If God wants a work to happen it will if you teach God’s Word as written. God does not send out beggars or those that pass the bucket and then never give the people any meat, just the milk of salvation over and over, never feeding the already founded congregation. Then their goal, is to bring in as many as they can making their organization wealthier, never feeding the people with God’s Word that need it. As here in Ezekiel 13:
Ezekiel 13:18 “And say, ‘Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the (women) that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls alive (that come) unto (you)?”
Ezekiel 13:19 “And will ye pollute Me among My People for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to My People that hear your lies?”
Ezekiel 13:20 “Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; ‘Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.”
The subject here is false preachers, or prophets, that cover up God’s people and hunt down souls. They do this to fill up their congregations and pollute the Word of God with the traditions of men! Take a look at a church or a religious to see if you they are bringing forth fruit. Then the Lord GOD, Himself, is against those that teach this “fly away” or “rapture”! This is not in God’s Word and HE is against it! This is building their own salvation or an “escape” as they also teach that you don’t need the book of Revelation or even the Old Testament, as you’ll “fly” out of here! Beware and God tells you, Himself, here to watch out for these false teachers as they are disarming from the truth of God’s Word when they teach it. Now let’s go on:
Colossians 1:9 “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;”
The way to know what God’s will is, or to see what pleases Him, is to love Him and respect Him. As here:
Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: But fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Why wouldn’t we want to know more about the LORD, what He has told us will happen before it takes place and how to get along in this life? It makes common sense to go the Source, Which is His Word, for He is the Word of God as in Revelation 19:13. Then going on:
Colossians 1:10 “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;”
Once we know the Word of God we naturally want to share it. We cannot contain that faith and the truth and knowledge of His Word. Our lives, being a witness and a testimony, for Him. And as Jesus tells us here:
Luke 11:33 “No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.”
When others see that light and hope in us and love with the Lord, they want that, too. You don’t even have to say anything sometimes. Just the presence of God’s Holy Spirit within you lights up a room and your faith in Him! Then going on here:
Colossians 1:11 “Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;”
The Lord is very, very patient. It is again, the Word of God that strengthens us, so keep in it every day so you can enjoy life and be prepared for where He wants to move you. As here we see the Lord knows that the majority of this final generation will not make in the flesh and will be deceived by Satan. As here:
II Peter 3:8 “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the LORD as a thousand years, and a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
II Peter 3:9 “The LORD is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
The Lord’s Day, or the thousand years, begins when Jesus stands at the mount of Olives in Jerusalem, setting up His permanent kingdom here on earth. Again, we will not fly away anywhere. The LORD never forgets His people and the promises of His Word. If we love Him, are making an effort to know His Word and then do what it says, He is there for you. He is so patient instead of destroying the one third of His people that worshipped Satan in the first earth age as in Revelation 9:4. We learned in Jeremiah Chapter 4, rather than make a full end and having them fully destroyed, God destroyed the first age. Then giving us this age of salvation where each soul decides do they love God or not. His goal is that all come to repentance as here:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:17 “For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.”
Anyone then, not just the nation of Israel, all peoples, nationality, races, ethnic groups, whomsoever, that believes in His Word and loves the Word then has that opportunity. The LORD God sent His Son Jesus so each one of us has a chance to enjoy that eternity with Him. He is very patient with you when learning the Word. As here:
Matthew 18:10 “Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of My Father Which in in heaven.”
face (Strong’s 4383) the front, the countenance, aspect, appearance, presence.
God will come to you at any time, giving you His attention, so ask for help. Especially when learning His Word, as He is very easy, and patient:
Matthew 11:28 “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden.”
Matthew 11:29 “Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto you souls.”
Matthew 11:30 “For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”
This here is especially for learning His Word. When we are digging in the Word for understanding, through His Holy Spirit if you are making the effort, He will help you out. He will go the level you are at that particular moment, then bring you up to the level of understanding that you need. He is that longsuffering, and very patient, with each of us helping bring along His Word. That way we can share this truth with others that only He leads us to. There might be a co-worker who has lost a parent, so then finding out where in the Word where the dead are, God could help you learn to plant seeds of your faith and the truth in His Word. Then going on:
Colossians 1:12 “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:”
We can be so very thankful to Heavenly Father for what is to come, the eternity that we will enjoy and be partakers with Him. As we just read in Ezekiel 44 those saints, or the elect, who overcome in the flesh and are not deceived by Satan and don’t worship him. Then as here:
Matthew 25:34 “Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, ‘Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:”
The King, Jesus, is on God’s right hand right now. Those of us who are blessed by the Lord having eyes to see and ears to hear His Word with understanding, we inherit, as we just read in Ezekiel 44, God, Himself, so His kingdom is pretty much everything of God’s! God owns everything, so what a blessing that is! Really think about it and praise God for His mercy and wanting to bless us, His children, with this to look forward to. We can enjoy His Holy Spirit today when in the flesh when we are with Him in the Word lifting our minds to a higher level of thinking, respecting and loving Him. Then as here:
Psalms 110:1 “(A Psalm of David.) The LORD said unto my Lord, “Sit Thou at My right hand, Until I make Thine enemies Thy footstool.”
Psalms 110:2 “The LORD shall send the rod of Thy strength out of Zion: Rule Thou in the midst of Thine enemies.”
Psalms 110:3 “Thy People shall be willing in the day of Thy power, In the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: Thou hast the dew of Thy youth.”
Psalms 110:4 “The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever After the order of Melchizedek.”
Melchizedek (Strong’s 4442) king of right; Malki-Tsedek; (from Strong’s 4428) a king; (from Strong’s 4427) to reign; to ascend the throne; to induct into royalty, to take counsel, and (from Strong’s 6664) the right; equity; prosperity; justice, righteous. (from Strong’s 6663) to be right (in a moral or forensic, legal sense), cleanse, clear self, do just or righteous.
The LORD God here telling His Lord, Jesus Christ, to sit at God’s throne at His right hand. When the enemies are at His footstool, that’s when God’s election, the bruisers, are delivered up to those synagogues of Satan as in Revelation 2:9 and 3:9 for the testimony of God’s Holy Spirit speaking through them just like on Pentecost day as in Acts 2. They were of one accord, the tongue and Word of the Holy Spirit speaking through them so all the hearers of it heard in the language they grew up with. This is also in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21. Then Jesus will rule with a rod of iron. Jesus is that Melchizedek of Genesis 14:18-20 Who Abraham tithed or gave one tenth, to Him. He is not only King of kings, as we just read in Matthew 25:34, but Lord of lords, as He is a Priest for ever, the High Priest of us all. His Word our Teacher. Take note the word Zadok, meaning righteous, makes up part of that word, Melchizedek, meaning King of Righteousness. As it is Jesus Who makes us righted back again to Him washes our sins away by His blood. The LORD’S Word of God is out and He will not repent, or take it back. Meaning the Word of God will happen the way that God has written it. There are no mysteries and no surprises, but the Truth that is happening all around us today, with so many prophesies going down in this final generation. Then going on here:
Colossians 1:13 “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:”
foundation (Strong’s 2602) a deposition i.e. founding; figuratively conception, conceive, foundation; (from Strong’s 2598) to thrown down, lay down; (from Strong’s 2596) opposition, distribution or intensity, and (from Strong’s 906) to throw (more or less violent or intense); arise, cast out, lay, lie, pour, send, strike, throw down, thrust.
translated (Strong’s 3179) to transfer, i.e. carry away, depose or exchange, seduce, remove, translate.
His Word translates us to His kingdom. Those elect, again, as in Revelation 19:7-8 are already judged, or called the wife, not bride, for they are married, spiritually, to the Lord. This was since the foundation, or founding, of this flesh age. That power of darkness, or death who is Satan as in Hebrews 2:14, is the Word of God, Jesus Who is sitting on the right hand of God’s throne as in Psalms 110:1. He then translated, or exchanged us by making us right again by washing our sins in His blood allowing us then to look forward to His kingdom to enjoy it with Him. Then going here:
Colossians 1:14 “In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”
Colossians 1:15 “Who is the image of the invisible God, the Firstborn of every creature:”
creature (Strong’s 2937) original formation; building, creation, creature, ordinance.
So then by redeeming us, or making us cleansed of our sins, not His as He is without spot or blemish, we then are forgiven if we go to Heavenly Father sincerely in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and ask for His help. Ask Him to make you whole again and honestly tell Him what you’ve done, then sinning no more. Not giving us a license to sin freely, but not be bogged down with the sins we will all do in this flesh life. We can enjoy that peace of mind of repentance today and be free. No man, religion or church can judge us, only the Judge, Almighty God. Jesus is the exact Image of Almighty God. We cannot see God for we are in the flesh Body. Jesus then is the Firstborn, meaning through the Holy Spirit having eternal life, showing us the way to eternity. As here:
John 14:9 “Jesus saith unto him, “Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known Me, Phillip? He that hath seen Me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, ‘Shew us the Father’?”
Phillip, one of the twelve apostles, asked to see Almighty God. As Phillip had seen Jesus he had then seen Heavenly Father. Also here His very name of our Lord Jesus is Emmanuel:
Matthew 1:23 “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
This here a perfect example of God telling us beforehand what will happen and it did. This is quoting from here:
Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the LORD Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
Immanuel (Strong’s 6005) with us (is) God; (from Strong’s 6006) to load, i.e. impose a burden, be borne, (heavy) burden, lade, load, put; and (from Strong’s 3050) Jah, the sacred name: the Lord, most vehement.
This was hundreds of years before the birth of Jesus. Mary did give birth to Jesus and Jesus is Immanuel, meaning God is with us. So just like we are in the flesh, we are the exact image of what we will be in the spiritual body. As here we could not know in the Lord’s Day, or the thousand years, the next age which begins at Jesus’s return, if this was not true
Ezekiel 44:25 “And they shall come at no dead person to defile themselves: but for father, or for mother, or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister that hath had no husband, they may defile themselves.”
The Zadok, or the just ones, God’s elect during the Lord’s Day will be allowed to go to their family members who do not overcome in the flesh and will have worshipped Satan, taking his mark or doing his work like converting others to worship him. Most of them unknowingly for they have not read God’s Word with understanding nor been taught. They can go help them. Note “dead” here means spiritually dead for we will be in spiritual bodies. And also here:
Genesis 1:26 “And God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
So the LORD God here saying let Us, meaning God and the angels, or we in the spiritual bodies. He made us all then a carbon copy image of what we look like in the spiritual bodies, or angelic, as in I Corinthians 15 as here:
I Corinthians 15:40 “There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.”
I Corinthians 15:50 “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.”
I Corinthians 15:51 “Behold, I shew a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,”
I Corinthians 15:52 “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
I Corinthians 15:53 “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”
terrestrial (Strong’s 1919) worldly; earthly, in earth.
celestial (Strong’s 2032) above the sky, celestial, heavenly; (from Strong’s 1909) superimposition (of time, place, order).
The subject here is where the dead are. We then see we have a celestial, or spiritual body, and a terrestrial, or flesh body made up of the organic material that we eat that sustains us. Then when we die that flesh goes back to the ground it came from as in Ecclesiastes Chapter 12, and our spirit, then in the spiritual body to God for judgment. So all souls, those believers, non-believers, all people go to Him for judgment. Then this is a one time event at the return of Jesus. All people living in the flesh will not die, but rather our bodies then change to spiritual bodies. The next age, the Lord’s Day, or thousand years we are in the spiritual. That’s why God is invisible to us today for we are in another dimension. This does not happen until the last trumpet or the seventh trumpet of Revelation 11:15 when Jesus comes after Satan sits in His seat claiming to be God. Many will have mortal, or liable to perish souls, but during the thousand years are in a spiritual body that never ages, gets sick and so forth. The LORD created Jesus as Son of Man, for the purpose of salvation for us all in the flesh, doing this flesh life perfectly, and not asking us to do something He would not do. Then going on:
Colossians 1:16 “For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him:”
God created everything and they are for His pleasure as here:
Revelation 4:11 “Thou art worthy, “O LORD, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.”
So to be pleasing to God we have to know His Word and what it says so we know that we are keeping with makes Him happy. Then God made all things visible and invisible, including Satan, an archangel as in Ezekiel 28 and the fallen angels as in Revelation 12:7-9 who will come with him. They were never born of women in the flesh, but are in heaven awaiting for God’s command to be released to this earth as here:
Revelation 12:7 “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,”
Revelation 12:8 “And prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven.”
Revelation 12:9 “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world, and his angels were cast out with him.”
Satan, who is that old serpent back in the Garden of Eden, and some of his roles we see here. Also Lucifer of Isaiah 14. Satan and those fallen angels, when God gives the command to Michael, also an archangel as in Daniel 11-12, will be released to this earth for God to see who has heard His Word with understanding and who has not. So then during this time when Satan is on earth God is still in control. As we just read God is over all kingdoms and principalities, even controlling that locust, or fallen angel army, as here:
Joel 2:25 “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, My great army which I sent among you.”
The locusts used to describe as the fallen angels with Satan their leader eating up any truth that is in those people with free will as in Revelation 9:4-5. Not touching those with the seal of God, or the Word of God with understanding, locked in their minds. So then let’s go here the subject is the return of Jesus and how we get back with Him:
II Thessalonians 2:1 “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him.”
II Thessalonians 2:2 “That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter, as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.”
II Thessalonians 2:3 “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition,”
II Thessalonians 2:4 “Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the Temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
II Thessalonians 2:10 “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”
II Thessalonians 2:11 “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:”
II Thessalonians 2:12 “That they all might be damned who believed, not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
falling away (Strong’s 646) defection from truth (properly the state (“apostacy” or revolt against one’s religion); perdition (Strong’s 684) ruin or loss (physically, spiritual or eternal); damnable, destruction, die, perdition, waste; (a presumed derivative of (Strong’s 622) to destroy fully (reflexive to perish, or lose), literally or figuratively destroy, die, lose, mar, perish.
We are not to be shaken up by any person, any religious doctrine, or spirits as there are many evil spirits out there in people. Especially not the first letter, or epistle of I Thessalonians 4, which many try and make a “rapture” teaching out of this. As we just read God is against those that teach His people to fly! That day when the Lord returns will not happen until two things happen. The world goes against it’s religious belief, and the son of perdition, meaning to fully destroy or to perish, sits in God’s throne claiming to be God. If you want not to hear the Word of God, that Which is pleasing to God, and not want the love of the truth of the Word of God. The fact that Satan will come first and then sit in God’s throne, then God, Himself, will send you strong delusion, if you want to keep your old beliefs and keep that lie in your mind. That way God protects you from worshipping Satan knowingly for you would then be held accountable if you did knowingly worship him and that would not be good! This would be, for example, if you were brought up with the “rapture” teaching or some other church teaching, then knew the truth of God’s Word, that Satan comes first and then Jesus returns. At that point as we just read in I Corinthians 15:52 all flesh changes, and in Zechariah 14:4 Jesus is standing at the mount of Olives here on earth. We will not fly away anywhere! If you held onto the “rapture” belief, God then would keep you blinded to the truth of His Word. This entire book of Colossians is about keeping old traditions out, and the purity of God’s Word in your mind. Then going on here:
Colossians 1:17 “And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.”
As in John 1:1 The Word was with God and was with God in the beginning as here:
John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
So then God at the beginning so during the first earth age, we had the Word with us. We then in the flesh according to what we did in the first earth age, it’s up to God to open up our minds to the truth of His Word at the point we are at in our lives. As we just read, He is very, very patient in teaching you His Word so you can be useful, and produce fruit, bringing many into His kingdom. Then going on:
Colossians 1:18 “And He is the head of the body, the church: Who is the beginning, the Firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence.”
Colossians 1:19 “For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fulness dwell;”
Colossians 1:20 “And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.”
Before Jesus, we are all spiritually dead, having no opportunity for eternal life then through salvation, repenting of our sins through His blood that HE shed for us. We then have that chance. Jesus then making us whole again, spiritually, through His blood that He spilled for us all that love Him, He reconciles, or sets up back right to God. So then as here the souls before Jesus who came in the flesh, they did not have the opportunity until Jesus was crucified for our sins. So then here He went to those souls in prison:
I Peter 3:18 “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:”
I Peter 3:19 “By which also He went and preached unto the spirits in prison.”
I Peter 3:20 “Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waiting in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.”
Jesus suffered for us all as only He is Just, and we all are unjust, as we all will sin in the flesh at some time in our lives. Repent and sin no more, with an honest heart. Then Jesus was quickened, or made alive, by the Holy Spirit of God, again being the Firstborn in the Spirit. He then went to those people all the way to Adam, and offered them and taught God’s Word so they too had the chance to have salvation by believing on Him, The Word of God. So only the eight souls, Noah, his wife, three sons and their wives, had salvation through the ark. God is fair to all people, giving us all the same chance that came after Jesus was crucified to those that came before Him on earth in the flesh. Then going here:
Revelation 1:4 “John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from Him Which is, and Which was, and Which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before His throne;”
Revelation 1:5 “And from Jesus Christ, Who is the faithful Witness, and the First Begotten of the dead, and the Prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him That loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, “
Revelation 1:6 “And hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
Jesus (Strong’s 2424) Jesus (i.e. Jehoshua), The name of our Lord. (from Hebrew origin Strong’s 3091) Jehovah-saved; Jehoshua; (from Strong’s 3068) the self-Existent or Eternal; (from Strong’s 1961) to exist, i.e. be or become, come to pass; and (from Strong’s 3467) to be open, to be safe, to free or succor, to defend, deliver, help, preserve, save or salvation.
Christ (Strong’s 5547) anointed, i.e. the Messiah, the epithet of Jesus; (from Strong’s 5548) to smear or rub with oil; to consecrate to an office or religious service; to anoint.
The book of Revelation here written through John by God’s Holy Spirit, written to those seven churches on earth at that time. Jesus found only two out of the seven, on the right path who taught who the sons of Cain, or Kenites, are of the synagogues of Satan as in Revelation 2:9 and 3:9. Jesus is the First Begotten of the dead, again meaning spiritually dead. Only by His washing our sins can we have an opportunity for the eternity to enjoy with Him. Then going here:
Revelation 7:13 “And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, “What are these which are arrayed in white robes? And whence came they?”
Revelation 7:14 “And I said unto him, “Sir, thou knowest.” And he said to me, “These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”
Revelation 7:15 “Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His Temple: And He That sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.”
Here in Revelation we are looking at the Lord’s Day, or the thousand years. These people took action, so they had to know God’s Word with understanding, or washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb. How do we do that? We learn what is pleasing to God, or His Word, and really try. We have to do our own homework and take action, making the effort to learn it for ourselves. God will help you when you pray and ask for His help. These then God’s election, or Zadok, as they have overcome the tribulation, of the antichrist, or instead-of Christ in Greek, Satan, who will come first. That son of perdition, who will sit in God’s throne claiming to be God. So as here:
I John 2:18 “Little children it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.”
I John 2:19 “They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.”
antichrist (Strong’s 500) an opponent of the Messiah; (from Strong’s 473) opposite, i.e. instead or because of , and (from Strong’s 5547) anointed, i.e. the Messiah, an epithet or descriptive word, of Jesus Christ; (from Strong’s 5548) to smear or rub with oil, i.e. (by implication) to consecrate to an office or religious service, anoint.
So we are in the end times, or the very last time. We are living in the final generation of the fig tree of Mark 13:28 when Israel became a nation as in Jeremiah 24 when both Judah, or the Jews, and the Kenites, sons of Cain, who are claim they are Jews, but are of the synagogue of Satan as in Revelation 2:9 and 3:9. That marked then this generation which began May 1948 when Israel became a nation, the good figs, the house of Judah, or Jews, and the bad figs, the sons of Cain, or the serpent’s seed, or offspring, of Genesis 3:15. So if there will be antichrist, meaning instead of Christ. Satan as we just read in II Thessalonians 2:3-4 will sit as God in His throne and say he is God! Then Satan comes instead of Christ, or before, and many will be deceived. They have not read nor been taught God’s Word with discipline and understanding. So if you are getting some other teaching or doctrine not founded in the Word of God, it’s not from God.
Then going on here:
Colossians 1:21 “And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled.”
Before we know the Word of God we have other works, or wicked works. This is men’s traditions, church doctrines and religion. For example, Adam and Eve never ate an apple that so many churches teach to this day! This is not in God’s Word. The “fruit” in Genesis 3 is what came out of the old serpent’s here:
Genesis 3:1 “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, “Yea, hath God said, ‘Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
Genesis 3:2 “And the woman said unto the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the fruit of the trees of the garden:”
Genesis 3:3 “But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, ‘Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.’”
Genesis 3:4 “And the serpent said unto the woman, “Ye shall not surely die:”
Genesis 3:5 “For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”
touch (Strong’s 5060) to touch, i.e. lay the hand upon (for any purpose; euphemism to lie with a woman); by implication to reach; violently to strike (punish, defeat, destroy)
So Satan is then using scripture, or twisting what God had said, and changing it just a bit to deceive both Eve and Adam. Here we see Eve even says not to “touch” which is a figure of speech, meaning to lie with a woman or have sexual relations. So then going on here:
