Our President proposed and Congress immediately passed into law this new prayer. It has also been approved by the Supreme Court and must be used by all public school students to begin their school day next year, and as an invocation for all city and county councils, school boards, and state legislatures.
Our Federal government thou art great and thou art good. By thy hand, we are fed, our children educated, and the sick healed. Thy kingdome come, thy will be done to bring paradise to earth. Let us hear daily thy voice from Washington and order us by thy wisdom. We will obey and give our money to thee for thou art the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. We praise thee, our federal government, our ruler and our hope. Amen.
Of course, this is an irony, but its essence is real.
