Darkness tries to access
Her deepest part - where
She is most vulnerable:
The core of her heart
So deceptive it is
Snaking and sneaking;
The lies of desire
That are false yet are gleaning
Her feelings tremble so
As it tries to shake
The joy in her heart
Which seems so at stake
She is always aware
That attack will arise
On her heart's True desire
To distort His Truth into lies
Her energy is spent
On assessing the confusion;
Not handing her burden
To the Lord of Resolution
But His Truth is the victor -
From which her heart cannot hide
From deep within its well reveals
His joy that does reside
Still, she wrestles with thoughts
Produced within her mind -
And wrestles with feelings
Usually opposite in kind
In the purging of her heart -
The threats do draw her near;
To desire communion
With God in Holy fear
In so doing she does find
That her so-called - 'desires'
Were beautifully transformed
Into His vision and His fire!
