As I Am
Take me as I am, living
My past, forgotten and forgiven
The sins covered by His Blood
Washed with the redemptive flood
Gone are the past deeds
Forward, now the path leads
Successes and failures are gone
All is new as the day's dawn
Today is a new day to live
this new heart to You I give
No longer shackled by the past
Moving forward, my hope to last
My garments washed white as snow
Yesterdays are for the soul to grow
The past, like vapor in the wind
Today is where to begin
Brothers and Sisters,
I have been struggling with excessive baggage. I was clinging to my past. Both the successes and failures in my walk with Christ. I have been trying to measure myself against those standards. I have been failing to realize that today is truly a new day. Yesterday's highs and lows are gone.
I was looking back to where I thought I was at the peak of my walk, as the Spirit moved me to perform good works for the Lord, then I tried to measure where I am today by this. Then I looked at the last few years of stagnation and then again applied that standard as a measure for where I am today. I have been holding myself back by clinging to these measurements.
Basically, my past was stealing my focus from what is important, Jesus Christ and Him crucified. All is made new in Him. Not just that moment when we accept Him, but everyday we are in Him.
So please pray for me as I try to let go of my yesterdays.
God bless,
Christian

Thank you my dear brother. Just what I needed to hear today: "Today is where to begin"...God bless you and keep you on the path of righteousness. Always praying. (I'm taking Jody's advice as well:-)
As my dad always said, everything in life is just a new opportunity. Fruit is only ripe for picking, eating and sowing for a very short period of time before it starts to go bad, so let today yield its fruit. Eat it, savor its flavor and its nutritious benefits, then plant its seed so it may become tomorrow's fruit. By God's own creation, fruit comes in a plethora of sizes, shapes and flavors - but it all is given to feed and nourish so we may grow. Blessings and prayer for you, brother as you reap the bountiful harvest of your life :D
I wish everyone would read this and glean. I was ministered to by it. He see's us and knows when and where and the right time to use us and he knows your a willing vessel. Thanks for this.
