How Do You Care For Your Wife?

When my first and only daughter was in her mother's womb, I never knew what the sex of the baby to be born would be. However, each time I saw my pregnant wife or remembered that she was pregnant, I never failed to pray "Lord, I want that child to be a girl". Thank God that He answered my prayer. Each time my father heard me praying it, he rebuked me, for obvious reasons.
When the baby girl arrived, I was on top of the world. I knew how I cared for her and caring for her. Seeing the love between the two of us, some jokingly called her "her father's wife". Do you know that this title should fit into any woman life? A wife must be taken care of as a beloved daughter. Solomon, the King called his Shulamite wife "my sister, my wife". Read the song of solomon to appreciate the meaning. I now want to add that yours should be "my sister, my wife, my daughter", For more and better results.
I visited a man of God in Lagos (Nigeria) almost a decade ago. The wife of that man said in her conversation with another woman about the man of God I visited, "I don't care what people say. My husband is my father and I will not hesitate to do anything to care for his welfare"
The man of God is an hard working gentleman. Each time he sleeps, the wife will not allow anyone to disturb him. For this reason, many have tagged the wife "a hard woman". I came in at that juncture to tell her that she has every right to protect her territory.
Do you know what? I know the man of God to be a lover of his wife. He is a very good example of a responsible family man. He cares for the woman as a daughter.
Hear what Jesus Christ has to say in Matt 7:9-11, 9 "or what man is there among you who, if his son (daughter) asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 or if he asks for a fish will he give him a serpent?
"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
Let me draw your attention jo "if you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,".
Mankind, by nature, is "evil" because "every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually". (Gen 6:5). You are not an exemption! If you feel any different, it is the Lord's doing, expecially if you have been born again.
Do you know what I am saying using Jesus' statement? No matter how evil you are, you should know how to give good gifts to your children, sons and daughters. Now coming to the issue on hand, no matter how "evil" you are, you must know how to care for your wife as your first born daughter. This must be glaring.
Let me not fail to tell you that you need to understaod the nature of a woman. By nature, a woman is different. Apostle Peter refers to them as "weaker vessels" that must be dealt with delicately. You must handle your wife with absolute care, and in love. In full, Peter said,
"Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered." I Peter 3:7.
Now and forever more, care for your wife as you will do for your first daughter. It has lots of profits. You will be at peace. You will also be a very good example for your children and others. You will by so doing, lay good foundations for your children's successful marriages.
