Sunday 5/6/12 Women’s Day - Minister Gilda’s sermon “Something New” II Cor.5:17,Isaiah 43:19
==============================================================================================================
The word “New” appears in the bible over 200 times. As children, we always appreciated something new. The “something new” novelty wears off after a while. New shoes, new clothes etc. When people compliment us on it, we say it’s a old outfit. We need to stop down playing the newness and just say thank you. As children, we got new things for Christmas and were so excited. New dolls, new toys, new clothes etc. After the 2nd week, we lost interest in these new things.
But when we become New creatures in Christ……
=Its bitter to better, stressed to blessed…….
=going through for our break thru, conceited to being committed…
=prideful to being prayerful, weak to strong, victim to victor….
=powerless to powerful, problems turn to Praise!
God wants to do something New for us at each church service. He has chosen us and called us to come to Him and to church today. Why? Because God wants to do something new for us. The more Word we hear, the more Word we retain and the more our life will change. We can’t downplay the “Word. We will be renewed. Nobody but God can renew. It’s new= be renewed and be not conformed to this world. The more Word in us the more work it is doing! We need to tell Nae Nae and them that we been in the Word, been in church listening to the word and getting something new.
Isaiah 43:19 Behold God will do something New in us. We will stop cussing, start some new things, join a church ministry and its God working in us. We are yielding to the Word==being renewed. When we do something new, we start to lose the desire for the old things. We don’t want to wear the loose clothes anymore. Clothes that showed every crack and crevice in our body. Old stuff passes away!
Don’t listen to people who don’t like the new us. People will call us out and try to bring us back to the old us. Don’t listen when we hear them say “why you going to church so much? ”or “ your future is bleak”. We need to release Nae Nae and them and let them go! Are we alone? No! Jesus said he would never leave us or forsake us. We need to tell Nae Nae and them that we are daughters of a King! We are the head and not the tail! We are children of the most High God! We are Rubies of Redemption!
Tell them God is Good All the Time!
We are something new! We need to talk to God everyday. Pray that we be kept new and that everyday God does something new in us. We came here today for something new!
AMEN
