Prayer is holy. Daniel was a man of prayer; he faithfully prayed each day of his life. In prayer you talk to your heavenly father, the Creator.
You tell him your hopes, your fears, and your worries.
One of my favorite pastors, Pastor Gilbert Patterson of Memphis, Tennessee said (paraphrasing), “There will be times in your life, when you will receive mail. A cancer report, a cutoff notice from the power company, a foreclosure notice, a pink slip from the job. You can’t handle this mail. You have done all you can. You must give it to God.” I have never forgotten those words from a man of God who has gone on to be with the Lord.
You pray to your father about everything, not just the bad but the good also.
A prayer is communication between you and God.
If you know someone and if you love someone, then you speak to that person every day.
That is the way it is with God. When you pray to your father, (because He gave all authority to his son, Jesus Christ), always add “in the name of Jesus”. It is in His name you are even received and accepted before this holy and powerful God who hates sin.
In James 5:16 the Bible says, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Remember to pray for the sick, pray for each other, and pray for the saints. Prayer is powerful.
Prayer is essential for one’s survival in the city or in the country! It’s dangerous out there!
Mainly, remember as the Bible confirms in I Thessalonians 5:17, “Pray without ceasing.”
Before you get out of the bed in the morning, pray. When you get into bed for the night, pray.
Pray to God who is your refuge, your strength, and your rock. Pray throughout the day, each and every day of your life.
Prayer works!
