We must consciously work to attract different groups of people to our church. The world uses this tactic. There is nothing wrong with it if it is used to save souls and to win people to Jesus Christ, the savior of the world.
Here are a few ideas that I wish to share to bring the people in
Place fliers (in the mailboxes, on the front porch, on cars) inviting people to come to your church.
Have a live praise and worship celebration for the neighbors to see what goes on at your church in a very public and family- friendly area with hotdogs, hamburgers, and sodas.
Advertise on television that all are welcome to your church with address, time of service, and directions from I-77 to I-85.
Place a large sign on each major corner, advertising that services will be held later today with the time and the address. All are welcome.
Ask local merchants at the plazas if they could place your professionally done, colored flier in the window of their store.
Invite African-Americans, Latin- Americans, Asian-Americans, and African preachers, once every six months, to preach at your church; the respective people groups will attend to support them.
Ask local residents in the spring and/or summer to drop off to the church donated clothing for the poor. Drop off donated clothing to Goodwill or distribute clothing to neighbors in need on the grounds of the church.
Have a Christian rock concert or a Christian worship hour in song by the young people of the church with contemporary music.
These are just a few of the suggestions given me by the Holy Spirit. There are so many more ideas. Ask and you shall receive.
