She Lifts Her Head Up

Shame had come to follow her,
   bringing her head to her knees,
      like an evil stalker,
         left her wanting it to cease.

Then one day, on her knees,
   she called upon the Lord.
She received the Prince of Peace,
   and learned she was adored.

She lifts her head up
   because she's found her Love.
The One who gave His saving cup,
   through Whom she's borne above.

She lifts her head up,
   because she has no shame.
She knows the Name of Hope;
   the Lord is His name.

"I have loved you, everlasting,
   even from the day I formed you.
So even when trouble is overcasting,
   see and know My good's still true."

She lifts her head in solace,
   she lifts it up in peace.
She's placed her trust in Jesus;
   in Him her spirit's eased.

Sister, go ahead and make your mouth
   shout and be so boastful.
Proclaim His praise, even shout
   and express how you're so joyful!

Even thank your day of shame
   had brought to your knees.
It was there you learned His name;
   this Jesus, your Prince of Peace.

The One you found had found you,
   like the 100th lamb.
In His finding, He's proved as true,
   for He is the great I AM.

For Francine, with much love...

Inspired by the practice my fiancee Francine has developed of lifting up her head to heaven as she prays or worships the Lord.

"But You, O Lord, are a shield for me,
My glory and the One who lifts up my head.

I cried to the Lord with my voice,
And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah

I lay down and slept;
I awoke, for the Lord sustained me.

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people
Who have set themselves against me all around." ~ Psalms 3:3-6
