Do You Ask Why Me Lord?

This seems to be a season of time where a lot of us are experiencing difficult circumstances that confront each of us personally. The sources of our suffering produce the inevitable question that troubles our soul "Why me Lord, Why would you permit this to happen to me?"

Sometimes the Lord does not rush into explaining what He is doing. God is not obligated to explain Himself to us. Isaiah 55:8-9 teaches that God's thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are God's thoughts and ways are higher then ours. So we lack the ability to grasp the infinite mind of God or the way He intervenes in our life.

1 Corinthians 2:16 " For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?" So clearly unless the Lord decides to explain Himself to us His reasons are beyond our reach. So many times our questions that begin with WHY are going to remain unanswered until God decides otherwise.

Even in the most terrible circumstances God's plan for our life is wonderful because anything in harmony with His will ultimately "works for the good who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28 ). There are many Bible characters that this wonderful plan meant early death, poverty, scorned. For the prophet Jeremiah, it meant being cast into a dark dungeon.

It should be unthinkable for us to think that God does not care or is not concerned about us. Scripture shows God as infinitely loving and kind, tenderly watching and guiding over His earthly children. Psalms 95:7 speaks of us as the people of His pasture, the flock under His care. John 3:16 tells us that it was His great love for us that led Him to send His only Son into the world to be a sacrifice for our sins so that we might escape the punishment we deserve. He did this because He so loved the world.

So when we are struggling with circumstances that just don't seem to make any sense and we start feeling frustrated, angry or experiencing feelings of abandonment, before our spirit withers let us remember what the Apostle Paul shared with us in Romans 8:38-39 NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD THAT IS IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD.
