Let's face it, this life is not an intricate, orderly puzzle with pieces cut perfectly to fit snug into just one pre-defined grid. Each segment of our existence consists of smooth curves, jutting fingers and jagged corners. When looked upon closely, each individual element may appear to have been delicately sculpted by the finest artist. Others resemble more the haphazard blobs of a three year old's attempt at fixing tissue leaves on a construction paper tree in preschool.
When we examine our experience at any given time, usually when faced with the jagged, jutting, mismatched pieces of our lives, we often fail to recognize the bigger picture. Like a fine mosaic, the different colors, textures, shapes, sizes and patterns that make up our seemingly chaotic lives, present a beautiful image. One of our whole selves. The picture of our lives only seen by God, our creator, our own master artist.
Remember this the next time you feel sad, disheartened, guilty...worthless.
Your value is not contained in any one circumstance, struggle, or any single square inch of your life. It is in the amalgamation of your strengths, weaknesses, victories and most humble moments that HIS finest creation shines in perfect harmony in each and every one of us. His masterpiece.
