It is so very odd that Christians, children of the Most High God, people who are of royal priesthood, have such poor health. If you enter any Christian church on Sunday morning, you will see that the national obesity rate of 68% is also present in the Body of Christ. We, who are people of a chosen generation, who are supposed to be peculiar (1 Peter 2:9), are just like the rest of the world when it comes to health and wellness and taking care of our physical bodies. There is nothing peculiar about us in this arena. We fit the typical mold and this should not be.
Think about this. When you see a King or a Queen, you can tell, just from the outward appearance, that they are royalty. They carry themselves with dignity, self-confidence, and they exude a priestly demeanor. They dress very neatly and appear to be well kept. On that same token, Christians, we who represent a royal priesthood, should outwardly display who our Father is and whom we serve. When the world looks upon us, they should see a physical vessel which outwardly shows strength, health, and wholeness. They should see someone who they want to be like. They should see someone who they want to draw from and immolate. This is how we will advance the Kingdom of God and draw people. If you are overweight, out of shape, always tired, and appear to be worn down you canít draw anyone because people donít want to be that way. They are already in that state and they are looking for something better.
God saved you for the purpose of advancing the Kingdom and drawing men and women to Him. You are not your own anymore, you were bought with a price (1 Cor 6:20) and because of this you have an obligation both physically and spiritually to live a life that is an ultimate example of Jesus Christ. Everything you are, even down to your physical and outward appearance should be used to draw people to Christ.
Most Christians get the spiritual part but overlook the physical. Now is the time for us to walk in all that God has for us. We must carry ourselves like Kings and Queens. We must eat properly and take care of our bodies. Our outward appearance should show royalty and when people speak to us our inward man should exude love, kindness, and the Holy Spirit.
Begin to live and care for your royal bodies to the fullest. You owe it to the man who gave up His life so that you can live.
God Bless You.
