Underneath our feet
we can sense a change
as we walk on a smooth surface
to then travel on coarse concrete-
On a road that's been here for ages
but takes on different stages
throughout all seasons.
How good it is to be on solid ground
but there are times in this life
when such ground cannot be found
as not all things are in our control.
Now and then we can move fast
as if in a wonderful race,
Then the unknown happens
...changing our pace.
It is a blessing to know
that whether fast or slow,
we can all be receiver's
of God's abundant grace.
Step by step we move forward
no matter what ground is
underneath our feet
and carry the light
along the way-
until our journey
is fully complete .
