“For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”
Wow. Angels in charge over me. What powerful words. I stop here and ponder all that means. I am no longer in charge, God's angels are. No matter what I do, where I go, or how I get there, His angels are with me and protecting me. I can shed the fear that has gripped me all my life and just go with the angels. What a wonderful feeling that is.
Keep me in all my ways. Please Lord, keep me. Keep me from stumbling, keep me from falling, keep me from harm. Angels watching over me and keeping me in their stead. As I said my prayers this morning, this Psalm of David's kept coming to mind for some reason. I guess I needed to be reminded of the fact that no matter what happens today or tomorrow or fifteen minutes from now, God in his mercy has surrounded me with his angels.
My son is a police officer, and I gave him a key chain with these very words on it, so I don’t worry about him while he is patrolling the streets of Memphis. I know God’s angels watch over him, as well as his family.
I thank God for these words from the Book of Psalms. They have given me such peace in my life, and taken away the bondage of fear I used to live in.
These are beautiful words, and more importantly, a beautiful promise of God’s love for us. These words from David have set me free to live for God’s will, and only His will.
I sit here this morning with peace in my soul and serenity in my heart, knowing God and his angels are in charge over me, to keep me in all my ways. Hallelujah.
