A lot of people loved the popular Christian Rock band The Newsboys. I always thought that "Rock" was perhaps too strong a word for their genre. They always had their own style, Australian techno-pop-rock that I fell in love with.
So I'm sure a lot of people had differing expectations for Michael Tait's taking over the band as lead singer. The former lead singer of bands DC Talk and "Tait" has now joined The Newsboys. Michael brings somewhat of a new style to the Boys, something with a remnant of the overlooked but beloved "Tait". After The Newsboys albums Born Again, and recently the worship album God's Not Dead, I'm here to tell you that yes, Michael Tait is a worthy addition to the Newsboys.
I attend a Fundamental Independed Baptist Church, so I've been raised with more of a aversion to rocky music, but theirs nothing, in my opinion, in the songs of Born Again that should raise any questions about the moral values known to the Boys.
All this is opinion, but if you likd the original Newsboys, check out the New news!
