Whenever Id like to watch something that interests me, I take note of the time it will air and tune in to the channel few minutes before the scheduled airing. Id close the windows and turn-off the lights, Id also microwave a bag of popcorn (if we have one), to recreate a cinema-like experience at home. Then I would wait in vain for the show to air, and when you are waiting, it feels that time tests your patience because it passes so slowly.

I like watching documentaries that tackle stories of success (especially from roots to riches) or stories about recuperation (someone who has recovered from a serious disease). But in the end, Id always think, no documentary could ever vividly describe the suffering of another person, because it only airs for an hour or two. It is impossible to compress the story and make it fit that time limit. When someone who recovered from cancer tells I couldnt describe the intensity of pain, it wouldnt let me sleep and it went on and like forever. You can imagine the pain as much as you want, but you can never get the 100% sensation unless you have undergone the same pain.

Then I thought, we will all definitely experience this cinema-like situation, where we would know exactly how much suffering the person has endured, because his story is exactly like ours. (The reason why its dark in cinemas is because the screen has to be the brightest in the room so you have your attention on it, and the light only turns on after the screening) The cinema-like experience I am pertaining to is the time when we are approaching death. It probably is a dark time in your life and you know its about to end, so you cannot look forward because its a dead end. You can only look backwards, trying to imagine the things that you have done and surpassed in your past, this is why a lot of people realize big things, big lessons of life before they die. Hopefully, when we are at this point, we have the word of God, instead of a popcorn, that we are digesting the word of God, instead of chewing popcorns.

If we are in pain, we would be waiting for our death, and time will pass slowly because we are waiting in vain. But we should consider this a blessing, because we have more time to look back and watch the documentary of our life. In cinema, when the light turns on, you head for the exit. In life, when you see the light, you will seek the entrance door to heaven, this means that you have watched enough of your past. You were suffering but you will be at peace.
