In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaster of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. -Daniel 5:5
There was once a great feast given by Belshazzar and his lords.
As they drank the wine, they praised the gods of gold and silver, of bronze, iron, wood and stone.
They must have drank and ate from golden vessels with friends and acquaintance of that day.
But then a very disturbing thing happened as they reveled in the royal palace hall.
The hand of God wrote on the palace wall
The face of the king turned pale and he was frightened . His knees knocked together. His legs gave way.
The sudden fingers, un-guided by the hand of man. Slowly writing mysterious characters on the wall.
Conviction must have flashed across their mind. Is this a rebuke or announcement of some fearful calamity.
As the hand of God wrote on the palace wall
The king was the most important person there, so this strange thing must have been intended for him.
The king saw the part of the hand that wrote. The others surely saw it also.
These things surely produced an overwhelming effect on everyone present that day.
As the hand of God wrote on the palace wall
God’s servant Daniel , stood before the king and rebuked him for his wrong doings.
He heard the Spirit of God giving him the meaning of the writing of his God upon the wall.
The king heard his doom that fateful day. His kingdom now was finished said the Hand upon the wall!
The king could not expect any good news from heaven, when the hand of God wrote on the wall
God can, in a moment, make the heart of the sinner to tremble.
God records all our deeds that we do, you know. They are all recorded in Heaven's books
We'd better give our life to Jesus and pay honor to the King of all kings.
There will soon come a time when the sinner's condemnation will be written on the wall!
