1Peter 3:10 says, For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
Did you know it will make you sick if you talk wrong about others? You won't have good days here on the earth if you talk about others. It doesn't matter if it is true what you are saying about them or not, it's still wrong when you tell it to someone else.
There are those who do this and then go to church and raise their hands and praise the Lord and look so sincere. Maby some don't know yet that they are doing wrong. But many do.
I'm sure the ones that know it's wrong are looking for excuses to continue to talk this way about their brothers and sisters in the Lord. They enjoy gossiping. I know people like this, don't you? Their lives are full of sickness, depression, and addictions and they take all kinds of medicine and visit their doctor often. I don't think they have made the connection with them being sick and what they are saying about their fellow Christian. There is a connection there.
God doesn't lie. He said if we don't keep our tongue and lips from speaking guile, then we won't enjoy our life or see good days. If we don't keep our mouth it will cause us health problems. You can't talk about anyone and stay well. That is just the truth of the matter.
Put a watch over your tongue and stop if you start to say something about anyone. It will be for your own benefit if you will do this.
Backbiting and gossiping is from the devil. That is his work. Christians, you can't do that and stay well, or stay in right standing with God. Watch what you say about others, it's vital to your health.
I know this is new to some of you. But we have to stop talking and telling everything we know about what someone did in the past or whenever. We are to love everybody and treat them like the Lord would. He wouldn't tell on you if you did something wrong, so don't you do it either, or you will lose your peaceful life and good days. There is nothing worth that, is there? Keep your tongue and you'll keep your life and walk in health.
