.11 But the story sounded like nonsense to the men, so they didnít believe it.12 However, Peter jumped up and ran to the tomb to look. Stooping, he peered in and saw the empty linen wrappings; then he went home again, wondering what had happened.
Luke 24:11-12 (NLT)
I want to wish you a Happy Easter. Today do you know and believe in what we are celebrating as Christians? Or are you like Peter wondering what has happened? Peter is one of the best choices you can have if you want to find an example of the human condition. Here is a man that walked with Jesus for three and a half years and Jesus foretold of this event. Yet Peter like many of us really just could not understand or believe what he was experiencing. You see three days earlier he had done something he swore he would not do. He had denied Jesus just as Jesus had said he would. He had failed the one he had called Lord and the one that the Holy Spirit had revealed to Peter to be the Messiah. Yet here he stood in the tomb and it empty, the seal broken the Roman Guard gone; wondering what had happened. Though I may not understand many things in my life I understand one thing and that is Jesus is not dead.
HE IS RISEN! HE HAS BEEN RAISED FROM THE DEAD AND HE IS NOT IN THE TOMB! IN THAT FACT I HAVE RECEIVED HOPE FOR EVERYDAY AND EVERY TRIAL I FACE! YOU CAN HAVE THAT ASSURANCE OUR GOD IS NOT DEAD HE IS SURELY ALIVE! TRUST IN HIM AND EXPERIENCE NEW LIFE TODAY.
Have a blessed day as we celebrate our risen savior.
