Prayers
"Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth" Colossians 3:2(NKJV).
Part one was about things on the earth that could truncate the effect of our prayer which includes fear, doubt and religion. Now we will take on the things of heaven which when their truth lay hold of us, our prayer life will be heavenly compliant. To begin, let’s talk on the victory mindset.
To set the mind on thing above definitely contrasts with the earthly (below) mindset in that the former sees things from God’s own perspective without any inkling of fear or doubt. Take on the assuredness of God himself, the one you seek to connect with in the place of prayer, for that is the “above” mindset. In God there is full assurance of ultimate victory, since nothing can defeat God. The man with the “above” mindset is assured that God is with him, for him and in him. He is assured of speedy response to prayer because whatever is above dominates what is below.
The victory mindset also proclaims that nothing is too hard for God to do. That kind of mind sees God as more real and greater than the situation around. Remember, God responds to the state of your heart and not just the words of your mouth. Come to God in prayer with your mind on the victory to be gained in it – that is the “above” mindset.
