Hustle and bustle of everday life
Buzzing and striving no room for respite
Overtime, no time, home after dark
Hello, goodbye, again we embark
Deadlines, all times, constantly stressed
Perform, conform, judged and assessed
Improve, or move, take a deep breath
Earning yet burning on towards death
On knees, tired pleas, a view of the end
Tear stained, constrained, deny and pretend
Alright, just right, tired and beat
Come on, get done, more work to complete
A voice.
Calmly it rings
Be still know me
A message it brings
The noise.
Faintly it recedes
Minds confined
Slowly concede
A peace.
Sweetly it enters
Silent, content
Jesus its centre
