Life is a journey and everybody on a journey will ultimately reach a destination. It is sad though that life will give you a day to wake up one after the other without giving you the balance remaining so that you may know when you are leaving this world and gird yourself for your departure.
It is mind-boggling however to contemplate when is your last mile of the journey, is it a hundred years or eighty years or it is only sixteen years? You will never know until it happens. As you walk the last mile of the journey, what manner of man will you be? Will you make the Father (God) proud by being a good finisher or you will disappoint Him by being a bad finisher. There is no standing over the fence, it is either you are a good or a bad finisher.
Let me take you back to the secular world; we have a student who has been performing very dismally at school throughout the year and a student who has been doing well throughout. The good performing student got distracted by his successes and failed the final exam very badly while on the other hand the bad performing student was somehow provoked by his sentiments and prepared for the final exam and excelled.
The issue is when the certificates are awarded they will not be written; FAILED: but he used to do well or PASSED: but he used to fail. Each student will be given what they acquired and deserve.
It doesnt matter how you started, you might have started as a failure or loser but God can turn your situation around. You may start as a zero and finish as a hero; you may start as nobody and finish as somebody. Your track record doesn’t matter because God will erase the writing that was against you.
You may not know where and when you started and that doesn’t matter. You may not know when your last mile of the journey is but it matters where it will lead you. Be wise and choose God on this last mile. Seek Him while He may be found.
When Jesus gave up the Spirit He said it is finished meaning He had carried out and finished the work He was sent for. When Apostle Paul was on his last mile he said in 2Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished my race, and I have kept the faith” Everybody has been given a piece of work to take care of, if you and I don’t nobody would. Take care of the talent that the Lord has given you.
