Truth is beautiful but can we say that all beauty is truth or true? Spiritual truth is especially beautiful, that is, spiritual meaning Biblical or godly truth which comes from the Holy Spirit.
Lucifer, before he fell, was beautiful and true but when he fell into sin through pride he ceased being beautiful and became ugly to his very core. Ugliness often appears as an angel of light.
Satan who disguises himself as an angel of light though ugly yet appears beautiful and his counterfeit truth or beauty is grasped, handled, adored, yea even swallowed by the mass of mankind.
In the churches the liberal theologians who have sat in high places in the churches, universities and seminaries have sought to discover some new El Dorado of the mind in their unbelief. They have pictured themselves as the philosopher-kings of the church who would eventually uncover some new truth through scientific discoveries and worldly philosophies which would enrich the people of God and yet it has been the liberals and the modernists who have been part of the problem by forsaking truth for unity. Thus the World Council of Churches, the ecumenical movement, seeks to unify the professing people of God but at the expense of doctrinal clarity and Christian orthodoxy.
We are told that doctrine divides and so it does but who would want to be joined together in the assembly of those who bear the mark of the Beast, those who are ostensibly Christians and who infiltrate the church and yet worship the Beast as evidenced by their heretical doctrines and their manner of life or conversation.
Now these tares have been planted in the field in the church by the enemy. (Matthew 13) Some have been planted by pastors who have been asleep in the pulpit and by their sermons have put to sleep the people in the pew.
Where is the Spirit of God today?
In many churches, at least in America, we see a lack of fervency and passion in preaching. Sermons and shoddily and sloppily prepared and perhaps put together hastily at the last minute instead of being prepared with much diligent research and searching of the scriptures.
Feed the flock of God said Peter. 1 Peter 5:2
I'm sure he was reminded of his dear Lord's words when asked, "Lovest thou me? Feed my sheep." John 21:17
So many congregations are starving to death. Perhaps pastors oughts to question their love for God in that they have not fed the sheep but instead have entertained the goats.
