My precious children, I see so many of you growing weary and discouraged from the trials of life. Some of you are so worn down by the father of lies that you’re even beginning to doubt your own salvation. Some of you find true fellowship in short supply, and when you get badly hurt in a so-called church experience, you wander away because you want to avoid further hurt.
While you withdraw for a time to lick your wounds and recover, bathe your soul in My pure Word, especially those sections which specifically deal with promises made to the New Covenant believer. You ARE a new creature in Christ Jesus (2 Cor.5:17). You are NOW, no if’s and’s or maybe’s, My own dearly beloved son or daughter (I John 3:2). I have ALREADY forgiven you all trespasses and cleared your record to make you righteous in Christ’s own righteousness (Col.2:13; Phil.3:9). You are NOW, through faith in Christ, seated with Him in heavenly places (Eph.2:6).
When the foundation of an old building begins to crack, it needs to be reinforced to strengthen it, lest the whole thing crumble. If you sense deep inside that the foundations of the solid biblical truths you’ve been taught are crumbling and you’re doubting your own security in Christ Jesus, then go back to these precious foundational truths in My Holy written Word and meditate on them over and over and over again. Digest them just like you’d digest your dinner. Satan knows when you’ve been starving yourself spiritually, and he knows that if you’re unable at this present time to find a strong New Testament church, that there is every danger you’ll begin to founder from failure to build yourself up in the most holy faith of Jesus (Jude 1:20).
Pray in the tongues of the Spirit, and if you have not yet received the fullness of the Holy Spirit Baptism, pray earnestly for Me to fill you up to overflowing with My Spirit. There is no substitute for having the Holy Spirit within make deep intercession for you to enable you to get the victory each and every time over the temptations and sneaky wiles of the devil (Rom.8:26-27). And always remember, Jesus Christ in heaven also stands at My right hand to make intercession for you (Rom.8:34).
Satan is a liar and a skulking cowardly coyote who attacks isolated or weaker, sicker members of My Body. Do encourage one another, beloved, and if it can’t always be done in a group setting, then encourage another Christian one-on-one, as true friends and brethren in the Lord. When you feel down or depressed, call another Christian who’s feeling “charged up” and ask them to pray for you. And don’t ever berate one another for being unable to spiritually “stand on your own two feet”. The reason a lot of people leave loveless, powerless churches is they feel ashamed and condemned when they request prayer, and then some “spiritual giant” cuts them down for being babyish and unable to fend off satan all by themselves.
There is a new trend in My church of “every man for himself”, and every Christian is supposed to be a mighty Samson whipping a thousand Philistines single-handed. You may have been subtly ridiculed for going back to the basics of New Testament truths instead of delving into “deeper things” which make you feel like a spiritual giant. But when you’re feeling ill, a bowl of simple soup might be better for you than strong meat. You need to STRENGTHEN YOUR FOUNDATIONS and build yourself back up after a bad attack of the devil leaves you feeling depleted. No one attacks and finishes off their own wounded like My own army!
Where it concerns Christians, no man is an island. I meant for My people to band together as one body knit together in love, not live isolated lives struggling to do the best they could to survive till they wearily limp into heaven! You were meant to be a church, an organism comprised of many members in My Body. When you physically fight off an enemy, your right hand doesn’t do all the work independently of the rest of your body. Unless there’s something seriously wrong with your body, your whole body will cooperate in the effort to set you free from the attacker. Your hidden heart pumps blood to your muscles to energize them for action. Your nervous system relays orders to and from the brain so its battle strategy will be carried out as quickly and safely as possible. normally your whole body cooperates. Both your hands fight the attacker.
Your eyes access the level of the danger, to see whether the thug has a knife or a gun, or is simply a drunk who’s making a grab at you with unsteady hands. If you’re able to resist, your legs might kick at the thug if swinging at him with your arms isn’t enough. Other less noticed members of your body help in the battle. Your unseen torso and hip muscles enable your dominant leg to fly out at the attacker to disable him long enough so you can run away. If necessary you strike swiftly at the most sensitive parts of his body. While one hand yanks at his hair while the other one shoves dirt in his eyes, your right foot might ram down hard on his instep.
Once the criminal is distracted by his own discomfort and he’s no longer an immediate threat, your nimble feet swivel your body around. Then both legs spring into action to help you run as far away from the security threat as possible. You use your voice to scream for help from the police, especially if the guy’s still chasing you.
Sometimes you can’t whip satan with a few simple words from an ABC faith formula. Sometimes there’s a real BATTLE on your hands when satan doesn’t give up easily, and it is then you realize you need allies in your War of Faith.
Even Paul, considered the greatest apostle of all time, included himself when he wrote: Brethren, pray for us (I Thes.5:25; 2 Thes.3:1).
