My tender shepherd
leads me on stone
through the rough country
to paths yet unknown.
You know the right way
when rocks abound
You urge me on
through land-mine ground.
Where is green pasture
and water still,
easy for resting
no challenge to will?
You pull at my faith-strings
You challenge my mind
No path-walking venture
I'm travelling blind.
You promise your presence
I know you are there
Tired and deflated
I treasure your care.
Invisible roadmap
Shepherd can read
Trusting your pathway
I follow your lead.
Particularly liked this:
You urge me on/through land-mine ground.
Land-mine ground is a strongly nuanced phrase that the modern person can really relate to. yeggs.
This is really beautiful and touched my heart. I could really relate to the MC. You might want to break it into verses and double space between them just to give the reader more white space. You have a way with your words it seems to just flow.
Ellen, I really loved this. The simplicity of it, together with the very clear message that it's not an easy path (although we would like it to be). I particularly liked this section:
You pull at my faith-strings
You Challenge my mind
No path walking venture
I'm travelling blind
I definitely relate to that. It does often feel as though we are travelling blind, even though He knows where He's leading.
