As the sun goes down beyond the horizon
Its beautiful colours spray the skies
Reds and gold’s, pinks and purples
A glorious splendor to cleanse the mind
Shifting sands swirl at the feet
As the gentle breeze blows asunder
Hair gently whipping across the face
As seagulls soar from high above.
The waters crashing gently upon the sand
As one after another
To wash the shores
Rolling and swirling as it flows to and fro
A peaceful scene to sit and ponder
That clears the mind
And washes away
The cares of the day
In this scene of peace and tranquility
I hear the sound of someone singing
I look around but no one is near
And then I realize it is I who is singing
No more am I tired
Frustrated from stress
As I sit and drink in
The beauty before me
I lift my hands
And sing a bit louder
Giving thanks for this blessing
That is before me.
This is the time
I feel closer to you
It is just you and I here
In peace and tranquility
This gift you have given is a saving grace
From the rigors of the day we had to face
Yet none is greater than the love you give.
Standing together on the beach
I love this time
We share together
Just you and I
And Daddy’s treasures
A Precious time
Of love and grace
Where I can walk
Closer to you.
