9. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. 10. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
Greeting my beloved brothers and sisters,
the topic of discussion today is regarding Rest. God knew that rest was very important to mankind that he reserved a day just for that purposed called the Sabbath Day which is observed on the seventh day of the week, set aside to worship and celebrate our God and spend time with our families. Jehovah God even rested on the seventh day from all his works, not because he was tired because God does not get tired; he is an all powerful God who never sleeps nor slumbers but because he wanted to set an example for mankind and demonstrate the importance of rest. Some have made a religion out of resting and worshiping on the seventh day or Sabbath day which was not the purpose or God's original intention. God declared in the scriptures that the Sabbath was made for man...and not man made for the Sabbath(Mark 2:27). In other words that day was set apart for man to focus on God and not for that day to become a god that currently causes division in the body of Christ. Back to the topic, " A place in God called Rest". This text," There remains therefore a rest for the people of God", it reminds the people of God that all of us have not entered into his rest. Rest in God is a place, a promise and a present reality for the saints of God. The rest that God promised the people of God is an assurance of salvation, deliverance, protection, and provision. There is no rest if you are not sure you are saved, there is no rest if you are not sure you are delivered, there is no rest if you are not sure you are protected, and there is no rest if you are not sure God will provide. The place in God called Rest is total trust in Jesus Christ...that is why we called Jesus Savior, Deliverer,Protector and Provider. This place in God is the only place you can find rest. The Psalmist declares he makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside still waters...Yes, you can find rest in Jesus Christ! In the world you will have tribulations but be of good cheer...Jesus has overcome the world! Have you entered into God's rest? Are you still working to get saved...following a list of do's and dont's, under the curse of the the law instead of receiving the grace of the crucified Christ who died on the cross so that you may have life and life more abundantly. Do you have peace with God and the peace of God? Today is the day to find Rest in God...Ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and began to rely total on him and his finished work on the cross for your salvation, deliverance, protection and your provisions that you may enter into his promised rest. A place, a promise and a present reality....get some Rest today!
