A Year Gone By
A year has come and gone
it feels like yesterday
other times seem so long
since you passed away
the loss hurts so deep
it quickly drowns joy
Just when I feel okay
sadness will deploy
Looking past tomorrow
is far to much to bear
Thinking of the times
you will not be there
I find solace thinking
time and time again
You have freedom now
from pain you were in
I try to see you smiling
across heavens open land
Walking in green pastures
holding Grandma's hand
