What now, you may ask. Youíve already come to the Lord and asked Him to enter your heart and dwell there, forgiving you of your sin through the sacrifice of the risen Lord Jesus. Godís brought you through some rough times and taught you some tough lessons. You feel like itís not as difficult to walk on the narrow road that Jesus talks about in Matthew 7, instead of the wide one the world chooses to follow. Now what, more of the same? Well yes, this is part of the answer, but thereís more.
In Jeremiah 24:7 it says God will give you a heart to know Him, to know that Heís your LORD: and youíll be part of His flock, and He will be your God. Youíll come before Him with your whole heart. When you show more of yourself to God, He shows you more of Himself. Whatís exciting is that as you press into Him to understand His ways better and He actually gives you a heart to know Him with a pure heart. You show Him you care about the things of His kingdom by trying to follow Jesusí example to walk humbly before your God, loving Him, yourself, and others.
Because youíve done this, youíve given Him permission to enhance your desire because the free will He gave you, youíve used to choose Him. With your new God-given desire, youíll truly begin to know the Lord in a more personal and intimate way. He will become a true friend. More than this, youíre His kinfolk, related by blood, the blood of Jesus who died for your sins. With this new desire, the Holy Spirit will teach you and your knowledge will increase. Heíll give you a better understanding of the things of the Spirit, perceiving more clearly. So I encourage you to lift Him up today.
