Sunday 3/11/12 Pastor Michael sermon: The Power of Your Dream Genesis 37:1-11

Many people waste time by not knowing the purpose of their life. God made us all different for a reason--A God given destiny. The world teaches us to be alike and to try to fit in. God doesn’t want us to be just like everybody else. Our unique differences will lead us to our purpose in life. We are different and God is trying to push our destiny thru our differences.
Joseph had his dreams and they showed his destiny:
1) Joseph’s dream produced favor from others :
Joseph’s father gave him favor and more love. Joseph was the son of destiny and he was favored. God has destiny over our lives and we are uniquely different. We have destiny and we don’t go along with the cliques and parties at work. God has destiny in our life and this is why we are outside the group. When we try to fit in, we can’t . This is because everybody doesn’t have the favor / destiny like we do. When we put our hands to stuff, it is blessed by God. This is because we have favor. There is destiny in our life ….Favor!! God trusts us to give us overflow to bless others. Isaac gave Joseph the special coat instead of his eldest child.
2) Gods favor lifts us up. We get lifted up and elevated above our haters.
We are lifted up by God!
3) God’s favor causes folk to listen to us. We will be put at a table with people of influence that will listen to us. When there is destiny over our life, there are no limits on our life . These people of influence that listen to us, will also bless us and give us opportunities that we never had in our life.
Destiny produces favor from others but it will also produce fury / anger from others. Destiny means we are going to have some haters! People who don’t have what we got will hate us instead of being happy for us. Joseph told his brothers his dream but he didn’t interpret it. They told him what his dream meant. His enemies interpreted what the dream meant and then they started to hate on him. Joseph never said they would bow to him. They said it!
If there is destiny on our life, people will either celebrate it -our dream or hate our dream . There is a price when there is destiny on your life The more dreams Joseph told his brothers, the more they hated him. Our haters will be our elevators!! The devil is trying to shut our mouths. He does not want us to tell our dreams, our destiny . Praise the Lord! Tell our dreams! Open our mouth-give God praise! Give God praise up in here! The more they hate on us, Praise God More! The more they try to hinder us--Praise God More! Don’t give up your dream!
